Nikon L120 and L23 Compact Digicams Also Unveiled

As you've been able to see for yourselves yesterday, Nikon really went overboard with its Spring 2011 lineup, but the list of announcements it not yet over, given the fact that we'll also have to talk about the latest additions to the company's L-Series, the L120 and L23 compact digital cameras.

The COOLPIX L120 is the direct successor to the L110 model and comes equipped with a 14.1- megapixel sensor, accompanied by a 21X optical zoom NIKKOR lens that covers a broad range of focal lengths from wide-angle 25mm through super-telephoto 525mm (35mm format equivalent).

Furthermore, the L120 also features a 3-inch, approximately 921k-dot (VGA) TFT LCD monitor with wide viewing angle, a new side zoom control and flash pop-up button, as well as HD video recording, all while being powered by AA alkaline batteries.

The COOLPIX L23 model, on the other hand, sports a 10.1-megapixel sensor, as well as a built-in 5X optical zoom NIKKOR lens - wide-angle 28mm (35mm format equivalent).

The L23 also features an Easy Auto shooting mode, plus three blur-reducing technologies, including electronic vibration reduction (VR), motion detection and Best Shot Selector (BSS).

What's more, additional features such as the large and clear 2.7-inch, approximately 230k-dot (QVGA) TFT LCD monitor and support for common AA batteries that can be purchased just about anywhere make this compact camera extremely easy to operate, even for beginners.

The Nikon Coolpix L120 and L23 are both available from 24th of February, the L120 selling for around 249.99 pounds sterling (290.00 Euro or US$279.95), while the L23 is priced at 69.99 pounds sterling (81.00 Euro).
