Most of the problems with the D4 camera were fixed by Nikon's previous firmware update, but some were left, so another had to be made.

The firmware version 1.02 can now be downloaded from the official website (follow this link). It squishes three main bugs.

One of them is where the camera freezes while formatting cards. The second is when focus points are displayed incorrectly. Thirdly, there was an issue when minimum aperture settings were mistakenly applied while recording video.

In addition to these fixes, the firmware adds an option to make memory card formatting easier. Furthermore, Adobe RGB images should display more vividly on the preview screen. Finally, better support for FTP networking has been added, reducing the risk of dropped connections.

Both Windows and Mac OS X machines can be used to download the firmware from the company website (as directed above).
