Using this hack you could get a clean output image without the usual LiveView icons

A couple of days ago we were talking about a new firmware hack designed to unlock Nikon's D5100 manual controls when using the LiveView mode of the camera.

Having in mind that both Nikon D5100 and D7000 share the same source code for their firmware, the guys at NikonHacker have released another firmware update for both cameras, which removes all HDMI icons that appear when using the LiveView mode. Check out the video above.

It seems that the functionality was already available in the firmware, but it was locked. What this firmware patch does is to unlock this option and give you a clean output image via HDMI.

Keep in mind that this firmware is a modified version of the official one and could damage your camera or even set it on fire if you are using a bad battery. Nevertheless, a few users from the NikonHacker forum already tried it and got the expected results.
