This year's Consumer Electronics Show has started, and some of the most important players in the photography business have already announced their camera and lens lineups.

Yesterday we were talking about the possibility of Nikon announcing the development of its new D4 flagship camera at this year's CES show, as well as the new entry-level D3300, along with the 35mm f/1.8G FX and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II lenses.

Today, the Nippon manufacturer officially announced that the company was preparing to release its next-generation flagship model, the D4S “HD-SLR.” The camera will be exhibited at Nikon's booth at the International CES show starting today, January 7, through January 10.

The new Nikon D4S model is, like its predecessor, addressed mostly to press, sports, and nature photographers and comes with improved image quality thanks to a new image-processing engine and more advanced focusing capabilities.

No further information has been disclosed about pricing and availability, but expect to hear more on this matter in the coming weeks.
