Nikon recently released a new mid-to-high-end digital SLR, the Nikon D5300 as well as a retro-styled high-end camera called Nikon Df, but today, a new rumor has emerged regarding a new model from the D3000 series, the Nikon D3300.

Nikon Rumors has received a photo from an anonymous source, which showcases what appears to be a new Nikon D3300 digital SLR.

Judging from the picture, there aren't any notable differences between the new D3300 body and its predecessor, the D3200, besides the model number.

It's very unlikely that Nikon would release a new DSLR camera this year, instead the new D3300 could be announced in the first quarter of 2014.

This picture might as well be fake, but, since Nikon launched a new D5300 model this year, the D3300 wouldn't come as a surprise. Moreover, yesterday Nikon announced a $100 / €74 discount for the Nikon D3200 18-55mm VR lens kit. No other details about the specs or features of new D3300 have been given.
