It has been a while since the last Nikon COOLPIX P7700 firmware was updated, but today Nikon has released firmware version 1.3 for their high-performance compact camera.

The new update comes with a much-requested feature, which solves the issues with the rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL14a. After updating your firmware, the remaining battery charge will now be accurately detected.

Also with this new firmware, the performance of your EN-EL14a battery is maximized in comparison with the previous EN-EL14 model, which means that you will be able to capture even more images with a fully charged battery.

The number of shots possible with an EN-EL14a battery is now at approximately 360 still pictures, while the actual battery life for movie recording is up to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

As you can see, it's imperative to update your Nikon COOLPIX P7700 firmware to version 1.3 in order to maximize your battery performance.
