Although highly popular on the DSLR segment, both Nikon and Canon didn't have the same success regarding their mirrorless digital camera models. While Canon recently released only its second MILC model, Nikon has a bit more experience in the segment and it's preparing to introduce the Nikon 1 V2 successor.

According to NikonRumors, the company is planning to announce the Nikon 1 V3 model at the upcoming CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2014, which will take place in Yokohama, Japan starting February 13 through February 16.

In addition to that, the upcoming Nikon 1 V3 interchangeable lens camera is rumored to feature 4K video recording capabilities. That wouldn't come as a surprise, since Nikon EU Product Manager Zurab Kiknadaze said in a recent interview that the company was looking forward to adding 4K support to future digital cameras. Moreover, it seems that Nikon 1 V3 will come with a new design inspired from the company's P-series.
