Recent rumors state that a new Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G Full Frame as well as a new Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G lens are planned to be announced early next year, most probably at the CES2014 show that will take place in Las Vegas starting January 7 through January 10, 2014.

If these rumors are true or not it remains to be seen, but today a few more details about the upcoming lenses, including construction, focusing distance, weight, filter size, or the number of aperture blades have been leaked.

According to NikonRumors, the AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G FX lens will feature a complex construction with 11 elements in 8 groups including 1 aspherical and 1 ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element that will minimize flare and chromatic aberrations.

The lens won't have a “golden ring,” which indicates that it won't be part of Nikon's premium lens class. In addition to that, it will feature a 58mm filter size and will be able to focus starting from a minimum distance of 25cm.

Furthermore, the lens will weigh approximately 300g / 11oz and will feature a rounded 7-blade aperture. In comparison, the AF-S Nikkor 35mm f/1.4G lens doesn't have ED glass and comes with 10 elements in 7 groups featuring only 1 aspherical element in its construction.

On the other hand, the AF-S NIKKOR 18–55mm f/3.5–5.6G DX VRII lens that is rumored to accompany the firm's new entry-level DSLR, the Nikon D3300, comes with the same 11 elements in 8 groups construction, but features only 1 aspherical element (no ED glass).

The body will be light and compact, taking advantage of a collapsible barrel similar with 1 Nikkor lenses like the 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 VR II. The new 18-55mm lens will weigh under 200g / 7oz, it has a 52mm filter size, and comes with a 7 rounded blade aperture.

Stay tuned as we try to find out more about these two lenses before they are officially announced by the Nippon manufacturer.
