The alleged assault on star chef Nigella Lawson by her husband, millionaire art dealer and advertiser, has resulted in a caution for Charles Saatchi.

Saatchi presented himself to the police station after photos emerged in the press of him choking his wife four times during a heated argument.

As I mentioned yesterday, the entire incident was caught on tape at Scott's restaurant in Mayfair, in London.

70-year-old Saatchi received a caution which, according to the Guardian, carries no legal penalty.

The caution is not included in an assailant's permanent record, but it will turn up on a more advanced check.

“There was no grip, it was a playful tiff.

“The pictures are horrific, but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place,” Saatchi explains, as relayed by Sky News.
