If she thought she was out of the woods once the defrauding trial was over, Nigella Lawson might have a surprise coming her way. Police are said to be making investigations in the evidence that came to light during the trial against her two personal assistants and their reckless spending from company credits cards.

At the trial, Nigella saw a huge drop in credibility as evidence surfaced she was a regular drug user and it was this addiction that led to the excessive spending by her PAs, in return for keeping her secret. She was also put in a position to admit that she used cannabis in front of her underage children, and even let them smoke the drug.

The Telegraph reports that Scotland Yard have now taken a keen interest in the declarations made during the trial, both by Nigella herself and also her two PAs. They are considering accusing her of drug possession charges and also of questioning her about her suppliers.

Social services might also intervene, either of their own initiative or at the request of police, to investigate the claims Nigella's children were indeed exposed to drugs in their home.

Nigella Lawson has recently lost the defrauding trial that she and her former husband Charles Saatchi filed against her personal assistants, two Italian sisters. The sisters were accused of excessive spending for personal interests from company cards. It was revealed during the trial that the sisters were actually authorized to spend money by the TV chef, in return for keeping silent about her drug addiction.

The Grillo sisters were acquitted of the charges after having spent over half a million pounds on items such as luxury clothing, jewelry, perfumes, trips to Paris and New York, as well as luxury hotel rooms. The spending was done on credit cards from the Saatchi advertising company which is why the TV chef's former husband decided to sue.
