3D printing is expanding beyond hobbyists and industrial applications into an area that has a lot to benefit from the freedom 3D printing enables, namely fashion. There are already plenty of people making 3D-printed jewelry. In the US, many of them are active on the Shapeways store.

So it's no surprise that Shapeways is making a big step towards a more mainstream adoption of 3D printing with a new partnership with Neiman Marcus.

The retailer has added two 3D-printed objects to its catalog, both made by Shapeways. The first is a monogrammed sterling silver heart pendant created by Roger Pearce.

The pendant has been available on Shapeways for a while, but it's now part of the Neiman Marcus catalog as well. Neiman Marcus adds a necklace, but the price goes up significantly, compared to just buying the pendant on Shapeways. The second object is an orb stainless steel sculpture from Bathsheba Grossman.

Both objects are only made on demand and the pendant can be customized with the initials of your loved one.
