Nicollette Sheridan Split Up with Her Fiancé

Nicollette Sheridan, who plays Edie Britt on the hit ABC show Desperate Housewives, and Swedish actor Niklas Soderblom have called off their engagement, according to People magazine.

The British-born actress accepted Swedish Soderblom's marriage proposal on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2004), and she had even revealed plans to include her two dogs in the bridal party.
It would have been the second marriage for the Desperate Housewives actress, who was wed to the LA Law star Harry Hamlin from 1991 to 1993.

A few weeks ago, Sheridan slammed rumors on their inherent break-up, saying that reporters "should get the facts right before they print things."

Now, according to a statement issued by Sheridan's publicist, Nicole Perna,
"Nicollette Sheridan and Nicklas Soderblom have parted ways after a year and a half. They ask that you respect their privacy at this time."

The 41 year-old British actress, who was nominated for a Golden Globe last year for her role on "Desperate Housewives", is also the promoter of the lingerie company Hestia in Australia.
