Nicole-This Year's Best Paid Actress

Australian beauty Nicole Kidman might not be exactly a people's person in her attitude, as she is more reserved and discrete than any other female celebrities. But there's one thing that she does way much better than these, meaning: money.

As usually, towards the end of each year, magazines start making their annual charts: who is the most beautiful star, the most appreciated, the best/worst dressed, the most 'reliable' and so on and so forth. In the spirit of this tradition, 'The Hollywood Reporter' Magazine has released its top ten of highest paid actresses in Hollywood.

Julia Roberts ruled for five years consecutively with her $20 million for the part in 'Erin Bronckovich', but she was now cast aside by Nicole. Even more, Julia doesn't even appear in this latest edition of the chart, as she took some time off acting to take care of her 2-year-old twins.

Thus, Kidman moved from last year's second spot to the number one position, with $17 million for a part. Heavy weight Reese Witherspoon comes in second by demanding $15 million for one single movie, closely followed by Renee Zellweger, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz, with approximately the same pay check.

The rest of the chart includes Halle Berry, who got $14 million for her last part, Charlize Theron, with $12 million and (surprisingly enough) Angelina Jolie, who only cashed in $10 million for the latest role she played this year. The remaining two positions go to 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston and 'Spider-Man' star Kirsten Dunst, who both earn a little over $10 million for each movie they make.

Even if the amounts of money these women ask for a single role are huge, they are almost nothing compared to what the household actors earn. Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey, for instance, are with $25 million richer once shooting for a movie ends.
