14 DAY TRIAL // Former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger brought her inner superhero / vixen out the other night during the X Factor live results show, with a live rendition of her latest solo single, “Poison.”
As UnrealityTV notes, aside from putting on quite a gorgeous show, complete with lasers and pyrotechnics, Nicole also deserves a lot of credit for singing live – while also managing to keep up with the energetic dance routine.
Nicole appeared on the stage inside a cage, accompanied by two scantily-clad female dancers. From the very start, it was clear she was about to keep her promise of delivering an awesome, lively performance, that she made before the show.
Seconds later, her leather coat was off to reveal a superhero-looking, tight, leather suit, complete with over-the-knee high patent boots and a hairdo that would have made Princess Leia or Catwoman jealous, because it seemed a combination of the two.
Right before Nicole took to the stage, host Dermot O’Leary joked with Louis Walsh about how he was about to see again one of his all-time favorite celebrity crushes.
At the end of the performance, Nicole got a standing ovation from both judges and the audience, with O’Leary trying to force her to admit she’d missed Louie more than she missed the other judges.
“X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman choreographed the whole thing and we liked the whole jail and S&M theme she had going on,” UnrealityTV writes of the performance.
“Nicole sang live. Yes she had some tuning issues and a few off key moments but at least she tried and overall it wasn’t half bad,” the same e-zine notes.
At the end, a nearly breathless Nicole talked about the contestants she had personally picked and who had made it this far on the show, namely Rebecca Ferguson and 3 boys from One Direction.
“I am so proud of them and they’ve come so far, everyone is so special in their own way and they’ve come so far,” Nicole said, while also revealing she had dedicated the night before to catch up with the latest developments on the show.
