14 DAY TRIAL // This Sunday, VH1 airs a Behind the Music special with Nicole Scherzinger, former frontwoman of the famous Pussycat Dolls. In that same interview, Nicole makes a surprise revelation about the dynamics of the group.
She says that she sang “95 percent of Pussycat Doll songs” on every album, including the backing vocals, as the video above will confirm.
In other words, the other girls were just for show, they only danced and ad-libbed on stage to make it appear as if they were singing.
To many, this hardly qualifies as news since it was clear from the get-go that Nicole was the force behind the PCD, the one left to carry all the weight.
Unfortunately, this could also explain why interest in her solo career was so low, because many knew the PCD were not 100% legit and they thought she was deliberately deceiving them – which she was but she probably never had a say in it.
