Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera Gave Birth!

Remember I've been telling you that there's an epidemics of sorts going round Hollywood? That's right - all the A-list ladies (and not only) have been getting pregnant, and in all the craze about who's pregnant with whom, how far along and whether it's been conformed or not, I sort of missed the joy (and relief) of announcing that finally someone has had a baby. Well, you know what they say - it never rains, it pours. Which means that today, the celebrity world welcomes not one, but two very eagerly expected babies. Socialite and reality TV star Nicole Richie and singer Christina Aguilera both gave birth at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center - and I have a feeling there will be a lot of reasons for celebration tonight in L.A. I mean, it feels like Christina and Nicole have been pregnant for ever and ever - and I still remember those early days of speculations and doubts about whether or not these two ladies were really going the pregnant route.

Today sure must have been busy at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. First, Nicole had her baby, and surprise - it's a little girl. So I suppose all the blue themed gifts she is said to have received at her baby shower will just be put into storage for when Paris Hilton decided to reproduce [shudder] and have a baby of her own. No, scratch that - she probably wouldn't want second hand baby gifts after all. The baby is said to have weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz, and her name is - hold on to your seats - Harlow Winter Kate Madden. "The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents" said Nicole's publicist in a statement. Well, Nicole can now dote on her baby girl and can teach her all about being a responsible celebrity offspring. Sort of.

There's no official confirmation as to whether Christina popped out a baby boy or a baby girl, but rumor has it it was a boy. Apparently, she was scheduled to have a c-section sometime this weekend - and is reportedly still at Cedars-Sinai. The birth was apparently confirmed by a neighbor of the father of Christina's husband, who said "Of course! I talked to Jack [Christina's father-in-law] earlier today. He's so happy to be a grandfather. He's thrilled to be a grandfather again, for the second time". Well, thank heaven for nosy neighbors!
