Nicole Richie seems to have postponed her planned wedding to boyfriend and baby daddy Joel Madden until after the couple's baby is born, which will happen sometime in January next year. For a while, (especially immediately after Nicole walked out of jail after spending only an hour or so "behind bars") there were plenty or rumors that the "Simple Life" star and boyfriend Joel were planning to tie the knot before the baby's birth. However, the two seem to have changed their mind and are seemingly planning to allow Nicole to be as calm as possible in the last months of her pregnancy.
The National Enquirer claims that Nicole's father Lionel Richie was behind this decision, as he is said to have repeatedly advised his daughter not to put extra stress on herself before the baby comes. "Lionel doesn't think Nicole can handle the stress, and told her: 'Baby, in life it's first things first!'", claims a family insider. Lionel is also said to have offered to pay for the entire wedding in his desire to make sure there is no extra pressure on his darling Nicole.
Nicole may be waiting to get married, but apparently, she is still taking some small steps in view of the ceremony. Star Magazine reports that Nicole recently bought costumes for - hold on to your pants - her little dogs (including a tuxedo for her Shih tzu, Honeychild, and a bridesmaid dress for Foxxy Cleopatra, her Pomeranian) from a Santa Monica pet store called The Wagging Tail. Apparently, Nicole intends to feature her dogs in her wedding ceremony, and is said to even consider having the two pooches walk down the aisle with her.
And there was me thinking she would get Paris Hilton to help with the wedding. However, I do admire her taste - I'm sure any pooch is an improvement on having Paris around, especially since the dogs (even if they're bitches) won't stab anyone in the back or steal their boyfriends. Pooches in it or not, I confess I'm looking forward to hearing more about the big wedding. But I do hope they let the dogs in - I'm sure they will make the whole thing a lot more interesting. Just how much more interesting, it remains to be seen.
