Nicole Richie Wants to Be an Actress

While some people still have Nicole’s performance on the E! show “The Simple Life” fresh in their memory, and not necessarily in a good way, recent reports indicate that the socialite and Paris Hilton frenemy has her eyes on acting again. And this has to be done fast, buzz in the industry has it.

Of course, this time, Nicole really wants to act and not just be part of a reality show, as was the case with “The Simple Life,” where she was herself, more or less. Several sources are reporting that the daughter of legendary crooner Lionel Richie wants to slowly make a name for herself as an actress, and she wants to do that using the best vehicle available right now: “Gossip Girl.”

After appearing in the role of a vicious cheerleader in TV series “Chuck,” much to the public appraisal, Nicole is now said to be eyeing a part in the US hit series “Gossip Girl.” Going to show that some would go to any lengths to get what they want, and to get it fast, talk in the industry says that Nicole has already spoken to the right people to put her name in there for consideration for a part in the successful series.

And it’s not going to be just any part as far as Nicole is concerned, if we’re to believe what several spies are saying. Apparently, the young mother, fashionista and philanthropist wants to play a part similar to the one she took in October 2008 in “Chuck,” meaning that of a mean girl. “Nicole loves ‘Gossip Girl’ and she wants a really [mean], juicy role.” one unnamed source told ContactMusic.

Whereas landing a part, be it small or not, on the season finale of “Gossip Girl,” set to air sometime later in 2009, would mean a considerable step forward for Nicole, many are already asking themselves whether there still is something that she can do to wash away the embarrassment of “The Simple Life” from public memory.
