Nicole Richie Really Really Wants Her Picture Taken

Staging a photo shoot is not such a bad thing to do, is it?

What is with these girls, if I may ask? I mean, we can all agree that over the past few months our famous media whores (pardon my blunt expression) have been getting more attention than even they could have hoped/wished/begged for. And I'm thinking Britney (we need a special section of the website for her already) and Lindsay and Paris and Nicole...you know, the whole "I'm-not-doing-anything-special-but-I-need-you-to-love-me" gang. And although we have to congratulate Nicole and Lindsay for their recent master plots to ditch the serious jail time they deserved, I would have believed that at least for a while they'd have the common sense to lie low and not have any sex in public, or be arrested for more DUIs and generally just mind their own business. For a while at least. Yeah, right.

But since we know media attention can be extremely addictive, barely a week has gone by since Lindsay and Nicole basically got away with murder (that is, no time in the slammer) and they're already hard at it. Lindsay's reportedly having sex and doing drugs in rehab and Nicole is back posing for "unexpected" run-ins with the paparazzi and basically screaming "here I am, please put me on the cover...any cover". We can speculate, of course, and assume that this is probably because she's seen Paris showing off her nipples for the German version of GQ magazine and is craving for a bit of the spotlight herself. And whatever Nicole wants, Nicole gets.

I know Brad and Angelina make it look oh so hot and sexy (and easy, for that matter), but there's actually an art to showing off affection in public and from the look of these photos, Nicole and rumored fiance Joel Madden still need some serious practice. They were

supposed to offer the photographers some sweet, candid moments of affection, but I'm not sure it came out as too convincing. And while Nicole does look sweet in that dress and while it's nice to see that she's almost got breasts and she's not as frighteningly skinny as she used to be, the whole moment screams staging. Which takes me back to my initial question - hasn't almost going to jail (and being released after 82 minutes) caused enough scandal to make Nicole wish for some good old fashioned peace and quiet? Apparently no. So, here are Nicole and her boyfriend exchanging some seriously affectionate moments. At the rate this is going, expect a photographer to just "happen" to walk by when Nicole's giving birth. Man, I'm certainly looking forward to that - it's so going to make my day. Don't you think so?
