Isn't it sort of weird to see Nicole Richie pregnant? Don't get me wrong - it's not the pregnant part that I find just a bit strange - after all, pregnant is the way to go if you want to be the IT lady this season. Just look at all the celebrities either already pregnant, hoping to get pregnant, trying to get pregnant again or recovering from having been pregnant and just giving birth.
Just think about it: Salma Hayek and Charlotte Church have just had their babies, Cristina Aguillera is pregnant and not admitting it, and rumor has it (again) that even Jennifer Lopez is finally pregnant as well. So Nicole fits into the tapestry quite nicely - but somehow, in her case, things are a bit different.
Nicole is currently in Hawaii with her boyfriend, Good Charlotte front man Joel Madden. And since we all know how Nicole likes the attention, she stripped down to a bikini and took to the waves - and wow, that baby bump is actually visible, and she simply looks radiant - and happy.
The fact is, if formerly ultra-skinny Nicole is happy to come out in the open looking slightly fuller than usual, then it's...well, not exactly a miracle but close. Because if you remember (and all of a sudden everyone seems to have forgotten about it) Nicole has come under fire a lot recently because of her extremely thin frame. Many of us were actually wondering if she was in a fit state to carry a baby and stay healthy throughout her pregnancy.
But it seems that miracles do happen after all, and at least one of Hollywood's darlings is making a positive statement, for once. Nicole has proven to us all that she's become more aware of her body and of what it takes to be a responsible mom-to-be - including eating and staying off the booze.
It was in fact Nicole's birthday over the weekend, and she chose to spend it with her boyfriend in Hawaii rather than staying up all night in some smoky club in LA. And while seeing Nicole's rounded figure is still a bit shocking - in view of her past exploits, that is - it's also quite refreshing. So, there you have it - pregnancy, turns out, makes some bad girls turn good - at least for a while. Gold star for Nicole.
