Nicole Kidman in Las Vegas: Backless and Gorgeous

The 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards took place in Las Vegas this weekend and, as expected, singer Keith Urban was also present at the festivities. However, whereas Keith should have been the star of the night, running for the Entertainer of the Year award, it was his wife Nicole Kidman that stole the show, it has been said.

Dressed in a backless, sparkly, black L’Wren Scott floor-grazing gown, as per celebrity /fashion blog JustJared, the 41-year-old star looked stunning with that type of cold elegance that is so characteristic of her. The big element of surprise with the black gown was that, of course, from the front, it seemed a bit out of place with an awards ceremony, since it covered her from her fingers down to her perfectly pedicured toes, but there wasn’t anything off with it at a second glance. Quite on the contrary.

When Nicole turned to the side, photographers got to see that the gown compensated for its rigidity with a plunging backline and a slit that went up to her thighs, revealing her finely toned legs. In fact, the paparazzi and other media representatives were so impressed with the outfit that, at a certain point, Keith was actually asked to step aside for a few moments so they could shoot Nicole alone – a request he gladly complied with.

Kidman matched the sparkly gown with peep toe black pumps, and chose to let the L’Wren Scott creation do all the talking, since she opted out of jewelry items or even a clutch. With an updo that placed a lot of emphasis on her eyes (subtly made to stand out even more with blue eyeshadow), Nicole might have seemed out of place at the festivities, but that was only at first sight. Fabulous and elegant as ever, Kidman’s latest appearance does nothing else but confirm that, when it comes to style, she does stand in a league of her own.

Keith Urban ran in the Entertainer of the Year category against Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and George Strait. With all the support from his wife and fans, Urban lost out to Carrie.
