John Travolta has been plagued by rumors about his orientation for most of his adult life but one thing that remained constant was his and wife Kelly Preston’s determination to weather the storm together. Things might change now: Nicole Kidman is urging Kelly to get away from her husband for a while. It must be well known that Travolta has recently been accused by several male masseurs of
inappropriate conduct and even downright harassment.
While their claims are settled in court, the tabloids are running story after story about how his marriage to Preston is just a front for his real orientation.
Friends are worried about them both, with Nicole Kidman even asking Kelly to move to Tennessee with her family for a while, as she considers her options.
Nicole was once married to another prominent Scientologist, Tom Cruise, and Kelly is the only friend she still has from those days, Star Magazine claims in its latest print issue (story via
CB).
She doesn’t want Kelly to put an end to her marriage, but she’s worried the most recent scandal might push her to seek solace in alcohol again.
Moreover, Nicole thinks it would be best for Kelly if she also had the support of
her non-Scientologist friends.
“Nicole called Kelly as soon as she heard about John’s issues. She is urging Kelly to come to her ranch in Tennessee for a month with her kids, Ella and Benjamin. Nic thinks her friend needs time away from John, so she can get counseling from non-Scientologists,” a source close to the situation tells Star.
“Nicole is worried that Kelly is going to become dependent on alcohol again. Kelly’s been sober recently, but this is a full-scale crisis. At Nicole’s house there is no alcohol, because Keith Urban is sober. So it would be a good retreat for Kelly,” the insider adds.
John too is aware of the fact that the scandal could spell the end of his marriage so, all this time, he’s doing his best to keep Kelly by his side, the spy goes on to say.
Things might not end in divorce but, even so, this is a serious crisis the Travolta family is dealing with, the tipster explains.
A publicist for Nicole Kidman has already issued a statement to say it’s “not true” that she’s advised Kelly to leave her husband.
