14 DAY TRIAL // Just six weeks after tying the knot, Weston Cage, the son of actor Nicolas Cage, got into an altercation with police officers after an unexplained outburst, and has been hospitalized for mental evaluation. It is believed he is being held on an involuntary hold for the purpose.
Weston has rarely made headlines as of late, except for his surprise wedding to Nikki Williams a little over a month ago.
TMZ is now reporting that he was with his trainer at The Farmer’s Kitchen in Hollywood when he had the outburst, which seemed to have been caused by the trainer telling him he couldn’t have an item that was on the menu.
Weston reportedly flipped and attacked the trainer.
“Nic Cage;s son, Weston Cage, has been taken to the hospital by ambulance for a mental evaluation and possible 5150 psychiatric hold, sources tell TMZ,” the e-zine reports.
“We’re told Weston went off and started pushing the trainer in a violent way, at one point trying to roundhouse the trainer,” TMZ says.
Obviously, he couldn’t overcome the trainer, who took him down. Other people in the restaurant too tried to calm him down, but to little success, the report argues.
Eventually, when it became clear that he wouldn’t cool down, someone called the police. Even when the officers arrived, Weston would only calm down when they told him they would taser him if he didn’t comply with their demands.
“Cops put Weston in handcuffs but they were so worried he was unstable they strapped him to a gurney. It’s unclear if Weston was under the influence of drugs or alcohol but people who work at the restaurant say he appeared to be under the influence of something,” TMZ writes.
Admittedly, before the outburst, Weston had gotten into a very nasty argument with his new wife Nikki, which resulted in her storming out of the house. He then went about his way like nothing happened – until his trainer “crossed” him.
TMZ also informs that Nicolas Cage has arrived at the hospital, having already cleared his schedule to be by his son’s bedside for as long as it’s necessary.
