14 DAY TRIAL // Nicolas Cage’s eldest son, rocker Weston Cage, is now in hospital after he was arrested for getting into an altercation with his personal trainer. He’s being held for mental evaluation – and there’s now footage of the fight that led to the involuntary hold.
TMZ has obtained footage shot of the altercation as it was taking place, right before police arrived. You can see it below, embedded at the end of the article.
The fight started when Weston’s personal trainer told him he couldn’t eat something on the menu, which is when Cage tried to roundhouse kick the trainer.
“In the footage, obtained by TMZ, Nic Cage’s long-haired son is beaten to a bloody pulp in front of the Farmer’s Kitchen restaurant in Hollywood... while several spectators stood by and watched,” TMZ writes.
Those who weren’t watching had already taken out their cell phones and were filming the incident. The guys who made this video can be heard several times saying the “dude is bleeding” heavily.
“The footage begins moments after 20-year-old Cage tried to deliver a roundhouse kick to his trainer after the trainer refused to allow Weston to order a certain item off the menu,” TMZ writes.
“After a brief scuffle, the trainer takes Weston down to the ground... climbs on top of him... and rains down with a flurry of barely-contested punches to Weston’s face. At one point, Weston tries to punch back – but the trainer blasts him in the face – once again taking control of the situation,” TMZ writes.
Weston was punched about 13 times in the face, the e-zine estimates, before he cooled off a bit.
The trainer did not get off him, though, holding him to the ground until police arrived. They could only get Weston to come with them after threatening to taser him, as we also reported the other day.
Weston’s dad, actor Nicolas Cage, arrived at the hospital shortly after the incident, and will probably remain there until they let his son go.
No word yet on what prompted Weston’s outburst, but eyewitnesses believe he was on some kind of substance that made him act this way.
