Nicki Minaj has all the more reasons to twerk her way into the upcoming VMAs because her “Anaconda” video managed to break viewing records after just one day of being posted online. Though blasted by many as being adult entertainment in terms of video and with a poor quality as far as the song goes, people still flocked in their millions to watch the video.

The singer was over herself and took to Instagram to boast, “We broke the record baby!!!!! Anaconda Video 19.6 million views in 24 hrs!!!! (sic).” The video, which has been online for several days now, has exceed that number greatly, now having some 43 million views and growing every day.

The previous record for most views in the first 24 hours after being uploaded on Vevo was held by Miley Cyrus and her “Wrecking Ball,” which managed a respectable 19.3 million views in its first day.

This is not a first for the controversial singer, as her previous collaboration with Justin Bieber, “Beauty and a Beat” also managed to rack up over 10 million views when it was first released in October 2012.

Next, Nicki in planning to bring her latest hit live on stage at the 2104 MTV Video Music Awards which are set to take place on August 24.
