14 DAY TRIAL // Mark your calendars because “The Pinkprint” is finally coming! Initially scheduled for release this month, Nicki Minaj’s third studio album will be out on December 15, 2014, and the rapper has finally revealed the official artwork for it, as well as 2 surprise collaborations.
The artwork is a pink print, so there’s not really much to discuss about it. The collaborations are with 2 artists Nicki has worked with before, to amazing results: Beyonce and Ariana Grande.
As you can see in the second Instagram shot below, which was posted to her official Instagram channel and represents the tracklisting, Beyonce will be featured on a track called “Feeling Myself,” while Grande will be on “Get on Your Knees.”
Seeing how “Anaconda,” one of the singles released from the album so far, is shamelessly explicit, with these song titles, we probably won’t get any major points if we guessed what they’re about. This isn’t a play at subtlety here.
As you probably know, Nicki first worked with Beyonce on her “Flawless” remix, which was such a huge hit right upon release that it came dangerously close to sending the collective fanbases into overdrive – and a heart attack on social media.
With Ariana, Nicki worked on “Bang Bang,” which also features Jessie J. The three have already performed the song quite a few times at awards shows, so they have probably bonded enough to know that they’d love to work some more together.
From “The Pinkprint,” we’ve already heard “Anaconda,” “Pills N Potions,” “Only” with Chris Brown, Drake and Lil Wayne, and the more recent “Bed of Lies,” which features Skylar Grey.
Personally, I’m hyped about this new Beyonce collaboration. Below is “Flawless,” just to give you a taste of the kind of amazingness you’re to expect. It’s the live rendition from Beyonce’s latest tour, but *please be advised that discretion is recommended because of language that might offend.
