14 DAY TRIAL // Last week, DJ Khaled sat down with MTV News for what was supposed to be an interview but turned out to be a surprise marriage proposal to Nicki Minaj who, he said, had no idea of what he was about to do. He insists the proposal was in earnest.

Us Weekly caught up with Khaled after the surprise proposal and, as expected, asked him if it was the real deal or more of a joke between friends.
He insists there’s nothing to joke about where his feelings are concerned.
“I want to marry her! I was serious,” he says.
“She can take her time and think about it. At least she knows how I feel now,” the hitmaker adds.
As it happens, this is precisely what Nicki is doing right now – taking her time – because she’s yet to respond in any way to his marriage proposal.
Come to think of it, perhaps he wasn’t even counting on a quick answer, considering what he said in the video about how she should take all the time she needed before that.
“You need a man like me in your life that's gonna take care of you and respect you. You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand... but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and about how serious this is to me,” he said.
“I want to be honest with you. I love you. I like you. I want you to be mine. The only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I know that you're busy...,” DJ Khaled added.
