Rapper promoted “The Pinkprint” on Andy Cohen

Nicki Minaj’s cleavage can’t catch a break! The rapper was on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live segment on Bravo the other day to promote her newest album, “The Pinkprint,” when she accidentally showed more skin on camera than she probably assumed she would when she left home.

Ironically, during the chat, Nicki also addressed her first infamous wardrobe malfunction on ABC’s Good Morning America and her more recent from the Video Music Awards 2014, when a zipper refused to cooperate and she had no other choice but to go on stage to perform holding her dress together with her hands.

Again ironically, Nicki called the GMA incident the most “embarrassing” one.

Nicki goes for very daring top, top wins

Nicki Minaj is not the kind of female entertainer who would back down from wearing a more risqué outfit, especially since it would match most of her musical releases. For the Andy Cohen interview, she donned a very tight and very low-cut top by Givenchy and a push-up bra, which made for an eye-popping sight.

It also made for the perfect opportunity for something to go wrong, which is precisely what happened right at the beginning of the interview. Bravo was quick to react and censored everything in time, but many fans noticed what happened – and then took to Twitter to discuss.

In almost no time, Nicki’s latest wardrobe malfunction and the fact that she seemed apparently unaware of it became trending topics on social media. Some laughed, some chided, but most agreed that Nicki was tempting fate with that top, which was nothing short of an accident waiting to happen.

The sweet irony

To make this even more fun for commenters on social media, in one segment of the interview, which you will also find in the second video below (which may be restricted, depending on your location), Nicki discussed her 2 most mediated wardrobe malfunctions.

She called the one on GMA, when she again wore an impossibly tight and low-cut outfit, which made one of her breasts pop out during the choreography, the most “embarrassing,” saying she had a “hard time” getting over that.

The only way this could have been more ironic was if she’d said these things while showing more skin than anyone one TV would dare to show without getting audiences up in arms.

Accident or not, malfunctions of this kind are best PR moves

Sadly, in this industry of showbiz, one can profit from controversy, as countless examples of celebrities can attest. It’s not even that uncommon to hear that certain stars create fake controversies just so they can promote whatever new project they’re working on at the moment or have coming out soon.

Wardrobe malfunctions at public events are on the list.

So, it could be that Nicki actually chose that top on purpose, precisely because she knew the odds were good it might reveal too much. It could be that she pretended not to notice what was happening only because she knew the people watching would.

It could be that she benefits from the increased attention because now, at the very least, more people know she has a new album out now, so the odds are bigger that they might actually check it out.

Stranger things have happened in showbiz, you know.
