14 DAY TRIAL // Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” music video has almost 332 million views on her official YouTube channel, managing to break the record for most views within 24 hours, with 19.6 million hits. A song and video about a phat booty will do that for ya, that’s clear.
Apparently, Nicki is out to outdo herself and “Anaconda,” going to even darker and raunchier places in her latest release, the official music video for “Only,” her collaboration with Drake, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne.
If you feel like you’ve read about an “Only” controversy before, that’s because you have: when the lyric video came out, it came under serious fire for featuring loads of Nazi imagery. The rapper eventually apologized, saying that she had no hand and no say in how the lyric video would look, insisting that the person who oversaw it, who happened to be a good friend of hers, was actually Jewish.
She was sorry anyone was offended.
Judging by reactions online to the actual music video, she might just have to prepare another apology because the people are up in arms over the very violent and very explicit footage – which, by the way, being that, you will only be able to watch on her official YouTube channel.

The video is tinged with S&M overtones and, for the most part, nonsensical. Nicki and her team are obviously going for the shock factor with it, because there’s not much to hold it together as a piece: it’s basically made up of beautiful but startling images, with a hefty side of shots of Nicki’s ample curves.
As of the moment, it’s causing serious waves online – but it’s yet to position itself as a match for “Anaconda.” It could be that Nicki will discover with it that, sometimes, too much is simply too much. Some illustrative shots are included in the gallery below.
