14 DAY TRIAL // Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have been together for most part of the last 4 years – save a brief split last year – and now they’re determined to aim for more. The two recently announced their engagement.
Much has been said about Nick and Vanessa, especially in the tabloid media, but they proved time and time again they were a solid couple. Now, they’re making it official.
On Friday, the two confirmed reports of a surprise engagement – and soon afterwards jetted off to Mexico to celebrate in style, People magazine reports.
“We’re excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together,” Nick and Vanessa said in a statement over the weekend.
“Lachey, 36, popped the question to Minnillo, 29, on Thursday ‘near a beach’ in California, with an Asscher-cut diamond flanked with trapezoids from Bader & Garrin, a source tells People,” the magazine writes.
On Sunday, Vanessa was photographed on a beach in Mexico, holding balloons for her 30th birthday party – the rock on her finger is truly impressive, word in the media has it.
Never the one to let a spokesperson do all the talking for him, Nick also took to his Twitter to confirm the happy news, lest his fans still thought it was nothing but a rumor (like so many others that emerged since he started dating Vanessa).
“Hey all. If anyone’s heard the rumors of my engagement, they are absolutely true! Vanessa and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for all the love,” Nick wrote.
Indeed, they are completely ecstatic about the engagement, a source confirms for People. “They are very happy. They make each other happy,” says a spy.
In past interviews, Vanessa would often drop hints about wanting to get married to Nick, even saying once it was her fate to always be the bridesmaid and never the bride, the publication also reports.
This is Nick’s second marriage: he was also married to pop star Jessica Simpson, from whom he reportedly got a divorce so he could be with Vanessa.
