Nick Lachey has never come across as the kind of guy whose trash talking could ever cross the line, but this is exactly what happened over the weekend, at a Cincinnati Bengals - San Diego Chargers game.

Lachey is a very vocal supporter of the Cincinnati Bengals and, according to online reports, his trash talking at the game got so loud and upsetting that security came and escorted him off the premises.

Below is a video of the exact moment in which Lachey and his posse are kicked out of the game. Obviously, you can’t tell what prompted such action on part of the security guys.

Lachey confirmed the incident immediately on Twitter, even bragging about it – or so it would seem, judging from his own words.

“Just got kicked out of the chargers stadium and couldn't be prouder! Go Cincy Bengals,” Lachey tweeted.

Shortly afterwards, he added, “Bengals win again. i'd talk trash to everyone in SD, but what's the point? you already had me kicked out of the stadium and you still lost.”

After word of his being kicked out of the game spread online and soon became a trending topic, Lachey had a subtle but definite change of heart: he wasn’t really kicked out but rather agreed to leave.

Also on Twitter, he issued a clarification on his previous statements, saying he did get into a verbal spat with a guy and it did lead to both of them being kicked out but, for the record, he did not start it.

In fact, he says, he only did what any other guy in his position would have done: he told the guy to back off.

“For the record, i was not kicked out of the chargers game for excessive ‘trash talking’. no, that honor belonged to the guy in front of me! i simply don't appreciate someone turning around and putting their finger in my face. call me crazy, but that deserved a reaction,” Lachey writes.

“again, aside from a few exceptions, i had a great time hanging with Charger fans all afternoon. honestly, some of the nicest fans around,” he adds.
