Remember that horrendous car crash that Nick Hogan was involved in about a month ago in Florida? Well, it seems that things just took a turn for the worse for Nick and especially for John Graziano, Nick's friend who was also in the car with him when he lost control of his yellow Toyota Supra, which flipped over and hit a palm tree full on. Nick, as you very well remember, only had a few scratches, but Grazziano's condition was very bad. And now, it was finally confirmed that Graziano will pretty much be a vegetable for the rest of his life.
Court documents reveal that the young marine will need lifelong care at a nursing home and at best will only be able to open and close his eyes periodically. This is incredibly sad news and it can also mean a disaster for Nick. Many reports claim that Hulk Hogan's son - who has a history of speeding - was doing just that before the crash and this would in fact hold him criminally responsible. Police are still investigating the incident and in the meantime (more than a month after the crash) Graziano is still in critical condition at the Bayfront Medical Center.
A registered nurse by the name of Joanne Jones was reportedly hired by the court to examine John Graziano and determine if he was incapacitated. The nurse stated very clearly that Nick's friend was on total life support. Graziano responds to a pinch and has a gag reflex but does not otherwise respond to touch or sound. His pupils are fixed, meaning they don't respond to light. Coleen Booker, a registered nurse with 14 years of emergency room experience at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, said in an interview that it is not encouraging that he is on life support and his pupils are fixed.
Nurse Jones' report also mentions the injuries that Graziano sustained as a result of the car crash. She reports that he broke his skull at the base, had part of his skull cut out, experienced brain swelling and had cuts to the scalp. Bone was pushed in and broken in many pieces. He had abnormal collections of blood under the front side of the skull. In an addendum, Jones included information given to her by Graziano's doctor, H. Bushnell Clarke. He told her that at best, Graziano will "open his eyes on and off".
For Nick Hogan, apart from a very guilty conscience, this could mean a lot of time in jail. Graziano was not wearing a seat belt at the time - but even so, if Nick is proven to have been speeding, things could turn very nasty for him.

| Comment #2 by: R Duchene on 17 Feb 2008, 00:33 GMT | reply to this comment | Nick Hogan (Bolea) should ABSOLUTELY be held Responsible for the incident which he caused! It will be VERY sad if this becomes a circus where the Permanently injured "friend" is used a scapegoat for not having his seatbelt on! Yes, he would almost definitely be in better codition if he had, but we are talking about taking responsibility for All our own actions! Including Nick as being the driver of the vehicle! This is Truly heartbreaking as I, along with Many others, have seen the way his parents go Above and Beyond to raise their children the best they can! Yes, Nick Hogan is a Very immature person for his age, but the legal system is in place for a reason! I HOPE it works the way it SHOULD!! This is the time for him to stand up, try to be responsible, and be treated as Anyone Else would and NOT as Hulk Hogan's son!!! That, unfortunately, is the ONLY way he is going to Learn Anything from this!! Prayers go out to ALL those affected by this terrible, tragic event! |

| Comment #3 by: noname on 05 Mar 2008, 00:17 GMT | reply to this comment | I personally think that R Duchene is completely correct and i feel that people should show more respect for John Graziano. Calling someone a car crash passenger and saying that he will pretty much be a vegetable is very rude and unthoughtful. If this was your son or daughter you would not want people to loose hope for them. I don't know John personally but I do know his brother and it kills me to see John being treated as nothing more than some friend of Nick Bolea's who just happened to get hurt. |
| Comment #5 by: WALFAY on 01 Jun 2008, 21:37 GMT | reply to this comment | Look i think nick should be in alot of trouble, but no one told john to get in that car, and no one told him not to wear a seat belt. Although I do agree nick should be punished, john g should have known better. |
| Comment #6 by: kelly on 03 Jun 2008, 05:07 GMT | reply to this comment | the police that let nick go the first 2 or 3 times before he actually got a ticket should be fired. it might not have prevented this, but at least it would have made it easier for him to be convicted. i can just see that the defense lawyers will be saying that nick didn't even get the message that he was wrong from the police, that several of them had the attitude '(son of the famous, rich) boys will be boys'. it is true that the john graziano got into the car and chose not to wear a seatbelt. but, we'll never know if he was a full participant in the decision to be in a drag race. (i saw on nancy grace and read that there was a viper involved and that they were supposedly drag racing, but i'm not sure if it's true.) it do feel bad for him, and i hope that his choice not to wear a seat belt will at least affect the decisions that other people make about wearing theirs. |
| Comment #7 by: ciara on 11 Aug 2008, 15:22 GMT | reply to this comment | he should have known better than to get in the car??? that's the stupidest thing ive ever heard! They were friends taking a drive. He wasnt psychic, how could he know what would happen? there is only one person responsible here and that is Nick. Its unbelievable the crimes celebrities are excused from but in this case a man's life is ruined forever. Nick should be punished in the exact same way as anyone else who committed such a recklesss crime. In fact the courts should be even harsher on him as he already had previous speeding records. I just hope there'e no-one as ridiculoudly stupid as you on the jury. |
