Nick Cannon to Direct Mariah Carey’s Upcoming Video

Word of Mariah Carey already working on another album got out a while back, much to the delight of fans. As it turns out, it won’t be long until they actually get something close to a first taste of what they’re to expect from her in the future, as Mariah has started casting for extras for a new music video. Moreover, husband Nick Cannon will reportedly direct the video, as gossip blogger Perez Hilton reports.

“According to a new casting notice, none other than […] Nick Cannon will now be directing Mariah Carey’s next music video. The video will be for Mimi’s song ‘My Love.’ Auditions were held in North Hollywood on Wednesday for actors and extras to appear in the vid.” Perez writes, citing his ever reliable sources in the industry. He also reports that shooting for the video is scheduled to take place this Saturday in Los Angeles, and that Mariah will be present.

As noted above, a while back, The-Dream revealed in an interview that “hadn’t gone to sleep yet because he was up all night with Mariah working on new material for her.” The topic under discussion was The-Dream’s “My Love,” which also features Mariah, but he was not at all shy about spilling the beans on the project the singer has now in the works and which, hopefully, will fare much better than her 2008 “E=MC2.”

“According to The-Dream, Mariah is already working on a new album and he’s been producing some hot new tracks for her.” MariahJournal wrote at the time. “The-Dream is responsible for producing Mariah’s huge hit ‘Touch My Body’ off her current album E=MC2.” the same source revealed, as a means to let fans know what they’re to expect from a forthcoming Mariah material.

While no specific details have yet been made public about the future project, it is already being referred to on the Internet as “EMC3.” Stay tuned here for more details on it.
