14 DAY TRIAL // As usual with these celebrity breakup stories, people want to know who's to blame and what caused the split, hoping deep down inside to be something scandalous, just because that means celebrities are no better than the rest of us, normal folk. The media is now trying to get to the bottom of what caused the split between Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey.
The initial reports are that Nick Cannon, who is 11 years younger than Mariah Carey, cheated on her with numerous women, some of them famous, some of them not so much, but definitely more than one time.
A friend of the actor spoke to Hollywoodlife and dismissed these rumors as pure fabrications. “He never cheated on her,” he begins and explains that “No, he wouldn't do that to her. He chased her for years and when he finally got her, he couldn't believe it, He really was floored that Mariah gave him a shot.”
He would have us believe that Cannon always felt like Mariah did him a favor by marrying him and having his babies. That may very well be the truth, but it's so far from the position he adopted when he gave that incriminating interview in which he bragged about bedding several celebrities in Hollywood.
There have also been reports about how Mariah hired a bodyguard whose sole mission was to keep women away from Nick Cannon when he was out of the house, throwing parties in Las Vegas. She also forbade him to drink any alcohol during said parties, because “he gets into trouble when he drinks.”
Meanwhile, Nick has just confirmed that he hasn't been sleeping in the same house as Mariah and that their marriage is going “through a rough patch.” But the anonymous friend insists that Nick still “loves her” and that he “always will, because she was his everything and he had the world's biggest crush on her.”
Divorces are almost always messy affairs, but especially when children are involved, and Mariah and Nick are going to have to settle the future of their two twins, 3-year-old Moroccan and Monroe.
Some celebrity gossip websites have pointed out that Mariah is very concerned about her children and that she “will fight for the kids. She is totally focused on them.”
The main reason for their falling out seems to have been a certain radio interview in which Nick bragged about bedding several celebrities, among them Kim Kardashian. Things got from bad to worse as Mariah simply couldn't forgive him and he decided to move out of the house. And now they're getting a divorce, allegedly.
