The much-mediated feud raging between Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey on one side, and Eminem on the other, has just come to an end, with Cannon going on the record to say that there’s no bad blood between him and the outspoken rapper. The post he wrote on his official blog to blast Em for the lyrics on “Bagpipes from Baghdad” was simply something he had to do, Nick tells EW, but that’s not to say he doesn’t understand where the rapper was coming from.

Since the scandal erupted, with Nick furiously lashing out at Eminem and even challenging to a man-to-man type of confrontation, the rapper has already apologized for any offense he might have caused, saying he believed Cannon misunderstood what the lyrics were all about. Now it’s Nick’s turn to back out of the feud, saying that he simply felt the need to say what was on his mind – and this stops here, there is no more feud to speak of.

“I felt like I said what I had to say” Cannon explains for EW. “I didn’t take [the post] down, like, ‘Oh, somebody instructed me to do it’ or anything like that. It was just one of those things, like, I said it. [It] pretty much crashed my site. There’d be thousands and thousands of comments and people couldn’t leave comments on other posts or any of that stuff. So that was the only reason why I took it down.” the singer further says, explaining why the post in question was pulled from the blog hours after it had been uploaded.

Since he only used the Internet to vent, Cannon insists, there is really no bad blood between him and Eminem. Moreover, he never even considered their brief, albeit pretty aggressive exchange of words, more than this – and clearly never saw it as a full-blown feud. Of course, he still feels angry that Em would pick precisely on his wife to sell his music but, with some twisted logic, he can totally see where he’s coming from, Cannon further explains for the publication.

“I never even considered it as beef. It’s not beef. It’s just, Hey, I heard the record. I said what I had to say. I feel exactly the same way by it and stick by everything, but I think it’s one of those things where it becomes that it’s not really that big of a deal, you know?” Nick Cannon concludes by saying.
