14 DAY TRIAL // Nick Cannon denied rumors that his 6-year marriage to Mariah Carey ended because he cheated on her, but he probably lied. If he was telling the truth, he must have been waiting for some time to start dating again, because he’s already seeing someone else.
Her name is Jasmine Sanders and she’s a gorgeous model. Radar Online reports that the two were getting very cozy at an event in Malibu in July, before word of Nick and Mariah’s separation hit the press.
The two decided it would be best for their two children and themselves if he moved out sometime in May, after a very rough patch in which all they did was fight and reproach things to each other. By July, he was already seeing other people, even if he’s been telling the media that divorce for him and Mariah is not a solid option just yet.
“The America’s Got Talent host, 33, is so taken with the beauty, he has been paying the rent on her Los Angeles apartment,” Radar writes.
It seems that Jasmine too is very much smitten with Nick because, shortly after they became an item, she started teasing Mariah on social media by posting a photo that seems to replicate the image used on her most recent studio album, the hilariously titled “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.”
Of course, it could be just a coincidence that, taken out of context, it appears as if Jasmine is taunting Nick’s soon to be ex-wife, but Radar is convinced that this is exactly what’s happening here. Nick and Mariah made it for 6 years without too much tabloid speculation on the state of their marriage, so word that they’d been living apart came as a shock. Fans dismissed it as a baseless rumor at first, but then Nick himself confirmed it, admitting that he and the diva had been having some problems.
However, he insisted that these problems had nothing to do with his cheating on her (which never happened) and that they were still to discuss the possibility of getting a divorce.
Unofficially, Nick and Mariah are done for good. Reports online claim that all these months that they didn’t say anything about their marriage were spent with their attorneys, trying to come up with the best financial and custodial arrangement for the kids.
They’re now discussing the final details and will be going public with the divorce announcement soon, apparently.
