Nexus Two, the rumored Google phone that would arrive from Samsung Electronics in the near future, has already made a live appearance, and some lucky people managed to play around with it. No image with the device is available, nor official details on it, but its existence was confirmed, and we might soon learn that it was already launched on the market.

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has been long rumored to be the manufacturer of the second Google phone to be delivered to shelves, and it appears that rumors are about to prove real.

According to a recent article on Gizmodo, one of their trusty sources managed to play around a little with the device, and reports that it should indeed arrive on shelves as Nexus Two.

Of course, when considering Eric Schmidt's statement from summer that Nexus One was meant to push the platform forward and that it already served its purpose, so there is no need for a Nexus Two, the rumor on the near release of Nexus Two by Samsung seems rather unbelievable.

Even so, it appears that the Nexus Two is as real as it can be, and that it already started to appear into the wild, which means that it might not be too long before the first images with it start to surface.

In the meantime, we should have a look at some details that were provided on the device, such as the fact that it would be a Galaxy S phone, or, at least, it would sport a wide range of similarities with this handset.

The mobile phone is expected to sport the same 4-inch AMOLED screen on Galaxy S, or a similar display, while packing a front-facing camera for video calling.

The handset should be flat, with a somehow “concave” front, hard edges and a curved back, while being about as thick as the Galaxy S. It should run under Android Gingerbread when made available.

The front facing camera should go along pretty nice with the video chat features that Google is reportedly readying for Gingerbread (features that would be based on the same protocols as Google Talk).

As for when Nexus Two would land on shelves, rumor has is that the next year would be the safest bet, since the video chat feature won't be ready before.

Unfortunately other specific details on this Android-based device are missing for the time being, and the same applies to photos with it, as the image attached to this article is only a mock up Gizmodo came up with.
