Samsung's long rumored Nexus S smartphone has just made another appearance into the wild, offering us the possibility to take a better look at its touchscreen display.

The new photo with the upcoming Android-based device emerged in a photostream on Picasa, which appears to be the same as the one where the “Nexus S” and the “GT-i9020” names appeared in the EXIF data before.

The photo was picked up by the guys over at Engadget, and supposedly offers us a better perspective over the curved display that the upcoming mobile phone should land on shelves with.

Speculation arose on the possibility that the display itself might not be curved, but only the bezel above and below the screen.

However, in case this feature is indeed present with the device, it would make it even more appealing than what the Nexus name or the Android Gingerbread OS might do.

According to Engadget, the photo with this device was captured on a Google employee's stream this weekend (provided that the handset there is indeed Nexus S).

Basically, this would show that Google and Samsung still have devices out in people's hands, and that they might be readying a near launch of both this smartphone and the Android Gingerbread mobile platform.

For those who might have missed previous reports on Nexus S, we should note that this would supposedly be the successor of Nexus One, the first Android-based device (and the last one, for that matter) to be sold via Google's web store.

The new device would be manufactured by Samsung, and should include appealing hardware specs, complemented by the inclusion of the new Android version, called Gingerbread, with no custom UI loaded on top of it. In other words, the device should offer a true Google experience to its users.

Nexus S was showcased by Google's CEO last week, and its existence is confirmed, but no specific info on when the device would be set to land on shelves emerged for the time being. All that was said was that Gingerbread would be released in a few weeks.
