With only a few hours left before the CTIA Wireless 2011 event starts, one of the most anticipated devices has just been confirmed by Sprint. A simple search on the carrier's website for “nexus” returns only one result: “Nexus S 4G from Google.” The device has leaked at the beginning of the month for the first time, but no additional details were available at that time.

It was thought that, during Sprint's two and a half hour event at CTIA 2011, the carrier would announce several new devices and not just old 'rehashed' products that have been previously launched in the last six months.

One of these devices is Samsung's Nexus S 4G which is fully compatible with Sprint's WiMAX network. The Nexus S 4G is said to run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread out-of-the-box and is touted as the first smartphone to feature fully integrated Google Voice.

Google Voice allows users to consolidate their land line phone number and cell phone numbers into just one number. The Google number will make all the user's phones ring at the same time.

In addition, Google Voice offers low-cost calls to international numbers, voicemail transcription and web calls.

Sprint's description of the Nexus S 4G also suggests that the device may be retailed by other major carriers later this year.

Experience Pure Google in the Nexus S 4G, the first smartphone with fully integrated Google Voice. Use the same number for all your calls and get cool features like voicemail transcription, Web calling and more. The Nexus S 4G combines Gingerbread, the fastest version of Android yet, with the added speed of 4G in over 70 markets and 3G speeds nationwide.”

The carrier is also expected to introduce some kind of 3D phone, touted as EVO 3D, as well as its first tablet, the EVO View, during its event at the 2011 CTIA Wireless.
