It should be available at Big Red in the beginning, then at other carriers

The fact that Google is working on bringing to the market yet another Nexus smartphone is no surprise to anyone, that's for sure, even if the company did not make an official announcement on the matter.

The next Google phone has been long rumored to arrive on shelves under the name of Nexus Prime, and some more info on it started to emerge recently, including details on its release date.

The new info comes from Tweeter, from a user called Tom Fleming (@tfleming223), who released it in the form of a poem. Moreover, these details are backed by another user, Northern Cali (@black_man_x), who has a history of being an accurate leaker.

What the said poem hints at is a device that will come to the market with Ice Cream Sandwich, and which should pack support for LTE, GSM, WiMAX, and the like.

Moreover, the cryptic hints also mention a device that will make users choosing “Tim Cook’s new pet” feel sorry for their option.

Clearly, this suggests that the next flavor of the iPhone, also said to arrive on shelves with global connectivity capabilities, will fall behind the upcoming Nexus smartphone.

The most interesting detail that the said poem hints at is the possible release date for the upcoming mobile phone:

Fore on the date Bruce Wayne’s true father did die; you shall in fact be able to buy in stores of red and black

This means that November 3rd might be the release date for the new handset, since Bob Kane, the credited creator of Batman, died on that day.

This means that the Nexus will be launched at Verizon Wireless in early November, though it should arrive at AT&T and Sprint as well soon after (this is why Tom Fleming mentions GSM and WiMAX connectivity capabilities).

Apparently, there is a strong possibility that the phone will arrive on stores on that day, as Verizon usually launches new devices on Thursday, and November 3rd will be a Thursday this year.

A series of previous rumors suggested that Verizon will be releasing the next Google phone as DROID Prime, and that the handset will be exclusively available on Big Red's network.

AT&T, another carrier set to launch the new Nexus, is expected to have it available on shelves in late November. Apparently, the carrier will have it available on Thanksgiving, November 24th. (via)
