The newcomer has an efficiency of up to 85% and active PFC

One thing about power supply units is that they determine what kind of hardware a computer can hold together.

Sure, the motherboard actually holds it, and the CPU runs it, but it's the PSU that needs to have cables for them all. Just get one with too few PCI-e plugs, for instance, or no 8-pin connectors, and you can set aside that juicy high-end graphics card.

Or buy another PSU, but I digress.

Dutch power and cooling hardware maker Nexus has launched the RX-8500 PSU 2013 edition, with a wattage of 850W and 80 Plus Certification (efficiency of 85%).

It has two 6+2 pin PCIe cables (so no worries about graphics cards, unless you want more than one), a 24-pin ATX cable, 8-pin EPS, and additional 4-pin CPU power. These are the integrated ones.

The two cables with three SATA connectors each, and the two cables with one Berg and three Molex connectors each, are modular.

The spec sheet goes on with a single 64A +12V rail design, a 135mm fan and active PFC.

Sadly, pricing details were withheld for whatever reason.
