Nexus 9 has just received certification from the FCC

It seems we have been expecting the Nexus 9 tablet to arrive since forever. We had hoped the device will arrive into the wild at the Google I/O this summer, but this sadly didn't turn out to be the case.

However, sources familiar with the matter encouraged us to believe the Nexus 9 is a real device, unlike the mythical Nexus 10 that has been rumored for such a long time, but failed to materialize in any form.

Anyway, the current consensus is that the Nexus 9 will officially be introduced on October 16, even if Android L will actually make a real life debut on November 1.

The dates have been changed in the past, but it appears the latest one finally seems to be on the right track.

Is the Nexus 9 really heading out on October 16?

According to HTC Source, the Nexus 9 has just been granted approval by the FCC, the portal through which all devices must pass through before making it in retail locations in the US.

The listing doesn't really confirm any of the rumored information about the tablet, except for the fact that the tab won’t take advantage of a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio, something we knew ever since the Nexus 9 dedicated keyboard case leaked out some time ago.

HTC is expected to hold a press event in New York this week, but we are not expecting the tablet to make an appearance there. The smartphone maker is expected to unveil a few handsets and GoPro-style action camera which looks like a pipe.

HTC is indeed making the Nexus 9

A while ago, we were having doubts HTC is the manufacturer behind the Nexus 9, but a report clarified this aspect saying engineer parties from Google have been assisting the developing team at HTC in their efforts to develop the tablet.

We've been waiting for the tablet to make a debut on the market, for some time and the fact that it has just been spotted clearing the FCC gives us hope that it might not take long for the latest Nexus addition to the family to reach us.

The device is expected to arrive with an 8.9-inch display and to offer 2K resolution. Most interestingly, the tablet is said to be taking advantage of NVIDIA’s 64-bit Tegra K1 processor, codenamed Denver. On top of that, the tablet should be one of the first devices to make it out with Google’s latest OS – Android L.

Well, in a few days, we’re hopefully going to see the tablet in its full splendor, so keep your fingers crossed.
