We have recently seen a possible Nexus 8 slate get its Bluetooth certification. Back then, it was speculated that the mystery slate might also turn out to be an LTE variant of the LG G Pad 8.3, because it was shown to bear the model number LG-V500, which is very similar to the current model.

Or it could mean that LG will be in charge of the manufacturing process for the 8-inch Nexus slate.

Now some fresh buzz has been created around the upcoming tablet, with Google releasing a new promo picture to advertise the new Android 4.4 KitKat build. In it we see a woman, sitting at a caffée table, surfing the Play store on a mysterious tablet.

The slate features a very slim bezel, which is visibly thinner than the one on the Nexus 7 (2013). The picture also shows the slate is running Android 4.4.

A while back in September, when the KitKat Android statue got unveiled at Googleplex, a picture emerged, showcasing a person using a mysterious phone. It later turned out to be the Nexus 5. So it is indeed a real possibility that the slate in the promo is actually the Nexus 8.
