The price cut follows immediately after Amazon has done so with its products

We have seen Amazon ax down its prices for the Kindle Fire HD in India just yesterday. Now Google is apparently going down the same road, slashing off the price tag on its Nexus 7 tablet in India.

The offer has been spotted on Amazon.in and those interested should know they can acquire the Google Wi-Fi 7-inch slate, the 16GB version for just Rs 9,999 / $160 / €118.

If you'd rather have the 32GB variant instead, prices are a little higher at Rs 13,999 / $223 / €166, but keep in mind a reduction has been applied here too. The 3G model's price tag hasn't been revised, however, and remains at Rs 19,999 / $319 / €237.

Nexus 7 packs a Tegra 3 processor with a 1GB of RAM under the hood and brings a 7-inch screen featuring a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

Seeing these price cuts, we can't help but wonder if Google has planned a next-gen Nexus 7 model (2013) in India and if so, when it might come out.
