News about a new Android 4.4.3 version being in tests was making rounds on the Internet a few days ago.

But now, a newer Android 4.4.3 build, barely four days old, has been spotted making an appearance. Myce says Google’s Nexus 7 will also receive Android 4.4.3 KitKat, as they have stumbled on the device running the most recent version.

The new build goes by build KTU83, which is to say it was created on the 83rd day of the current quarter, meaning March 24.

So let’s decipher the code and see what KTU83 really stands for. The first letter is the version of Android, so in this case we have KitKat. The second letter stands for the branch, but we don’t know much in this department, yet. The last letter plus the numbers represent the date.

U stands for Q1 2014 and the numbers are the exact day of the quarter when the build came into existence. That makes the KTU83 four days newer than the KTU79.

Earlier this week, Android 4.4.3 KitKat was spotted on the Nexus 5, but the addition of Nexus 7 confirms the supposition the new build will be made available for all devices in the Nexus family, including the Nexus 10 tablet.
