Unveiled last summer, the Nexus 7 slate from ASUS is now available for purchase in India through Google’s web store, after being launched in the country through ASUS’ retail channels in November at Rs 19,981 ($367 / 285 Euro) and registering slow demand.

Users in India can now head over to the Google Play Store and purchase the 16GB Wi-Fi flavor of the Nexus 7 tablet PC at only Rs 15,999 ($294 / 229 Euro), with shipment expectations set for April 5.

As bgr.in notes, the slate arrives on shelves with a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU and 1GB of RAM, and a 7-inch IPS display capable of delivering a 1280 x 800-pixel resolution.

The Nexus tablet also sports a front-facing camera to enable video calling, is powered by Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and can be found on this page in the Indian Google Play store.
