Good news, custom ROM lovers. The newest nightly based on Android 4.4.4 coming from Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) has been released into the wild and it arrives with support for the Nexus 7 LTE tablet.

Since CyanogenMode currently offers the hidden Heads Up notification mode, it’s not a big surprise that we get to see this feat arrive with the new AOKP nighly.

Other additions and improvements include auto immersive mode, option for disabling the fullscreen keyboard, NFC Polling Mode, lockscreen rotate option, CRT screen off animation modes and new options for enabling/disabling menu unlock.

Of course, like with any new release, a host of bug fixes and update for devices have been thrown in. The Nexus 7 LTE is a new device that has been added to the roller coaster; therefore, you should expect to encounter a bunch of bugs.

In related news, if you’re not looking to jump onboard with a custom ROM, you should know the Android 4.4.3 factory images for the Nexus 7 LTE have been posted by Google.

Granted, the Android 4.4.4 update started rolling out for the Wi-Fi version of the device not so long ago, but for various reason the LTE variant is lagging a little bit.
