We previously reported that Nexus 7 landed in the Google Play Store in India, not so long ago. Now ASUS India has officially launched the device in the country. The price for the 7-inch tablet remains the same Rs. 20,999 / $339 / €250, says AndroidOS.

ASUS Regional Head for India, Peter Chang, introduced the slate by saying the company is “extremely elated to bring the all-new Nexus 7 which is sleeker yet comprises the same sized screen and significantly increased performance.”

“The quality of the pixels has been improved with a 30% wider color gamut than the previous generation model; ensuring colors are both accurate and vibrant to further enhance the user experience. Our constant quest for the incredible has led us to further innovate and deliver a device which is the ultimate blend of power and portability.”

ASUS says that the 16GB Wi-Fi version and 32GB LTE variants are available for purchase in the country, with no mention of the 32GB Wi-Fi model.

The second-gen Nexus 7 features a 7-inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. Google has added a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The tablet has two cameras (5MP rear camera and 1.2MP frontal snapper) and runs Android 4.3 out of the box. The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Nexus 7 2013 has already been made available in the country.
