Here is a tiny piece of information that you might want to take into consideration before thinking the Nexus 6 will definitely be your next smartphone.

If you thought that Google was going to bring its next Nexus flagship smartphone on the market at bargain prices, then you might want to reconsider your assumption.

According to Modaco founder Paul O’Brien, the Nexus 6 should indeed come in under £450 (€565/$715), but we should not expect the smartphone to be extremely cheap like its predecessors.

Many Nexus fans probably expected the Nexus 6 to be available for purchase via Google Play Store for around £300 (€375/$480) – £350 (€440/$555), but that will definitely not be the case if O’Brien’s inside info proves to be accurate.

So, what if the Nexus 6 were priced at £450 or €450 or $450 outright? Would that be too high of a price for Google to sell millions of units?

It’s hard to tell as the smartphone hasn’t been outed yet, and there’s no guarantee that Google will go with such a high price for its phablet.

However, given the fact that the Nexus 6 will target phablet users who are used to pay higher amounts for their handsets, there’s a high chance that Google will make the smartphone available at the price tipped by Modaco’s founder.

Nexus 6 should be officially unveiled sometime this month

Also, judging by the Nexus 6’ specification list that leaked online over the past couple of weeks, £450 (€565/$715) doesn’t seem to be such a high price for a top-tier smartphone, especially if we compare Nexus 6 with other flagship smartphones already available on the market, which cost a lot more than Google’s handset.

Apart from the fact that it will come packed with very powerful hardware, the Nexus 6 will run Android L at launch. This should be one of the phone’s main selling points at least for a few months until other handset makers manage to bring their older product on Android L as well.

Those who are not familiar yet with what the Nexus 6 may have to offer in terms of specs, here is a quick recap. First of all, the smartphone will be armed with a powerful 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, an Adreno 440 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It will also pack a 13-megapixel OIS (optical stabilization image) main camera with dual-LED flash and video recording, as well as an impressive 5.9-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display.

Nexus 6 is expected to be officially unveiled sometime this month, along with Android L, but an exact release date has yet to be announced.
