The smartphone also features a 12-megapixel camera on the back

Before the end of this year, Google and one of its hardware partners should make official a new handset in the popular series of Nexus smartphones, one that should be called Nexus 6, but a new concept device has arrived on the web with this name attached to it.

Make no mistake about it, this is not a leaked handset, and the actual Nexus 6 will more than likely be different from what can be seen in the images attached to this post, but the concept can still impress in terms of looks and hardware capabilities.

This Nexus 6 is the result of a designer’s imagination and features a large, 5.7-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution.

This would make it one of the largest smartphones out there, one of the main reasons for which we say that the actual Nexus 6 is highly unlikely to resemble this concept. Google has always released phones in the lineup with medium-size screens.

The rest of the phone's specifications, however, could actually make it inside the next Nexus device, starting with the 64-bit processor, which is complemented by 3GB of RAM.

On the back, the Nexus 6 concept device features a 12-megapixel camera, capable of recording videos at 4K resolution, a feature that has started to gain popularity among flagship smartphones lately.

The concept phone is also said to arrive in at least three flavors, with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal memory, respectively. The usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors should also be present inside the device.

The Nexus 6 concept also sports a thin body, of only 8mm, as well as an outer design similar to that of Nexus 5 before it. However, while the previous smartphone in the series was released by LG, this device is said to come from HTC.

Undoubtedly, should the real Nexus 6 resemble this concept phone, many users will be happy to empty their pockets to buy one, though there’s little chance that this will actually happen, as mentioned above.

For the time being, the phone in these images, and in the video embedded below, available courtesy of mygadgetic.com (via concept-phones), is nothing more than the product of a designer’s imagination, and you should take it as such.

However, with the Nexus 6 expected to become official in fall, it should not be too long before details on the device start emerging, and we’ll be able to learn more on what the last phone in the series will have to offer.
